Swan Ferraro (b. Madison, WI) is an interdisciplinary artist working in installation, sculpture, photo and video. They explore these mediums in conjunction with poetry and somatic rituals as a way to collectively dream of desirable futures. Ferraro’s research explores creative improvisation as a form of divination in the trans body. Through physically and spiritually envisioning new realities, imagination and improvisation are used as political tools for empowerment. In an effort to make healing practices more accessible, Ferraro’s work seeks to queer spaces into creative sanctuaries. Their work is meant to question what healing is and how it is felt.
